2016 Solstice MultiSport Challenge: June 18-19
Nearly 4900’ above sea level, Elk Lake sits in the midst of a spectacular volcanic landscape with Mt. Bachelor’s cone as its crowning glory. Comprised of thick forest, volcanic rocks, and a plethora of sparkling lakes, this is where your adventure begins. Make sure to enjoy the scenery while you can, most of your adventure will be taking place in the dark.
While this is a multisport event, it is also an adventure race. This means that we are not going to tell you ahead of time EXACTLY where you’ll be going. Just prior to the race you’ll be given maps and info so you can plan your route.
We’re also not going to tell you EXACTLY what you’ll be doing. You’ll be given a list of mandatory gear to bring, and we’ll give that to you months in advance so you can prepare.
With all the water nearby it’s safe to say you can expect to be in or on the water in some way, shape or form. There will also be mountain biking, trekking, and orienteering involved.
What we can tell you is this…you WILL be having a great time.
The Solstice MultiSport Challenge time limit is 12 hours. This is a dusk-to-dawn event with the race beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. The start/finish will be at the Elk Lake Resort. You can enter as a solo participant or with a team of up to 4 people.
